- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
- Operate keyboard-only navigation
AbilityNet also has advice on how to make your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with WCAG Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.
This means that most of the website is fully accessible, however we know that there are some features that are either totally or partially non-compliant.
Non-compliant content is listed below.
Non-accessible content
We understand that the following content may not be fully, or is not, accessible:
Research and Reports:
Some pages within this section contain links to a PDF, situated within the hero panel.
If these are not currently in an accessible format, we have noted this directly below the PDF link.
Children and Educators:
This section contains a great deal of interactive content.
A lot of this content is accessible, for example:
- Anything tagged as a “Book” in Ziggy content (within the Early section)
- Roadstars content (within Early and First sections)
However, there are games and videos which are not accessible within the Ziggy, Your Call and Crash Magnets sections, such as:
- Green Cross Code Words
- Green Cross Code Phrases
- Safety Picture puzzle
- Safer route quiz
- Out with friends quiz
- Peer pressure
- Island crossing
- Difficult to see
- Ball on the road
We continue to work on our website to make it as accessible as possible for all users.
Not within the scope of regulations
The accessibility regulations do not cover PDF or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any content that is essential for the services we offer has been made accessible.
Any new documentation or interactive content we provide on the website will be developed to meet accessibility standards.
